PS.Thank you Scott for turning me on to investigating the Recording King brand name. Unless TMLC is going to go "full force" and build a factory here and hire Americans to build their banjos.I'm not getting excited about this announcement!!!!! If I was a Brit or an Aussie I would still feel the same way about the job situation in those countries. All that term means to me is that my neighbors and friends are out of work because of outsourcing jobs to other countries and pulling down the American economy. I think kindly of anyone in the world that works at playing a banjo but I'm not concerned about "the Global Economy". These same companies also build instruments under other brand names i.e.

I would suspect that TMLC has existing Chinese Companies build instruments to their specs. I'm under the impression that the Chinese Government would not allow a foreign company to own a business there, I could be wrong, but I'd be surprised if The Music Link Corporation(TMLC) owns a factory in China. Turns our there is no Recording King Co at all!!!!! Only a trademark owned by The Music Link Corporation that allows the name to be used on these banjos. I've already admitted I was wrong about Recording King being a Chinese co. State or Country of Incorporation: California

The OWNER of the rk name is a company based in SAN FRANCISCO, CALIFORNIA, check the trademark registration on the US Patent and Trademark website Honestly: if you live in England or Italy or wherever, what value is there in made-in-USA? Like I said: global economy. Note also that made in USA is far less of an issue for our friends and BHO members who are not American. based retailers who sell the banjos stay in the U.S. based company that owns the RK brand and the U.S. workers get paid to design them, place orders with the factory, receive and inspect banjos that arrive in the States, pack and ship them to retailers, demonstrate them at music industry conferences, and deliver them to the doorstep of U.S. Yes, Chinese workers get paid to make those banjos.

The point is, the original critical post was wrong in characterizing Recording King as a Chinese company. The factory may be in China, but it's my understanding that The Music Link (a U.S.
